Ward D is located on Metis Nation Region 4 and is part of Treaty 6 Territory, which includes amiskwaciwâskahikan (which means Beaver Mountain House or Edmonton in Cree language). Trisha’s campaign team recognizes this land and the importance that it has played and continues to play in the lives of many First Nations, Metis and Inuit. We are all Treaty people and Trisha is committed to honouring the knowledge and the lived experiences of Indigenous peoples, including the impacts of residential schools and the tragedy of missing and murdered Indigenous women. Trisha continues to work towards honouring the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada and its Calls to Action.
