Schools have always been the hearts of our communities. This year has reminded us that when school communities come together we can make a difference. On this, the last day of the school year, a huge shout out of gratitude to all the amazing staff in EPSB schools who work so hard every day to create communities where our kids feel welcome, safe and cared for. In a pandemic, school staff were our rocks – our place where we knew our kids would be supported, online or in person. Thank you.
And to parents – I know it has not been easy. Personally, my own children and kids in my life taught me lessons of patience, resiliency and the invaluable reminder that kindness can go so far during a challenging time. These small gifts are the silver lining of this COVID-19 year.
And now, I hope everyone has a little time to rest, relax and reflect. Schools truly are the hearts of our communities and post pandemic we have an opportunity to emerge stronger than ever for our kids, our schools and for each other.
